Salvatore “Slimy-Sam” Grosso is a music promoter and entrepreneur, and is best known as the propreietor behind Queen Street West’s Cadillac Lounge. Following the closure of his bar in 2019, Slimy-Sam moved his family to the county, where he quickly began planning the opening of a Cadillac Lounge successor, Sam’s Place, in the barn of his rural residential property.
Slimy-Sam quitely cut corners in his renovations to his barn, rushing to open a venue that would start generating revenue. Deceitful in his intentions, Slimy-Sam Grosso held a handful of small quiet events in his illegal, fire-code non-compliant venue, hoping to woo some of his neighbors. As time passed, so increased the brazen-ness of his actions. He began hosting larger and louder events, selling ticket to see performances in his under-serviced, unsafe barn. Events that his neighbors hundreds of feet away could hear with their windows closed.
Sneaky-Sam submitted an application to have his rural residential property rezoned to allow him to turn his barn into a full-fledged event venue. Sam knew he would have some opposition to the rezoning and transformation of his neighborhood, so he ran for municipal office to be able to influence the County staff and sway the already corrupt council.
